I felt so great going into this race. I knew it wasn't one i was going to get a p.r in but i knew it would still be fun even if it was a killer course. the first mile was great. me and taylor ran together and kept together the entire time. it always makes running so much easier when you have a teammate there, and we each kept driving eachother on. once we passed mile 1 i knew it was alot of downhill so i picked up the pace and as soon as i took the right i knew i had the hill coming, but i still had to keep a good pace. I got to the hill and just went at it with a good attitude, i knew it would be tough, but its not impossible to run the entire thing so i just started going up, got onto my toes kept a smile on my face and just pushed upward. near the top i passed a group of about 4 guys. after the hill i had to shorten my stride for a bit because i was so dead from that hill but after the little downhill in the middle i felt better. As i hit the massive downhill i knew i had to kick it up because there was mostly downhill left and i wasn't going to let anyone pass me. on the hairpin turn i passed a boise and a bk guy, which made me feel good because i was gaining position in the pack. I remember on the last stretch the boise and bk guy seemed really close, but i remember dyllan yelling at me to start picking it up so i just looked up and knew these two guys behind me weren't gonna pass me. As took the right turn i started moving faster then as i hit the gravel i saw a bk guy that seemed to be slowing down so i just gunned it out fast as i could make myself go to try to pass him. I almost caught up to him but didn't pass him, but the bk guy and the boise guy never caught me either. all in all, even though i didnt p.r i felt like i ran a great race, and in the end i had fun and thats why i like cross country.
