Been fighting a cold since Friday and just reached the like worst day of my cold yesterday. Felt slightly better today but my head was throbbing and I was extremely tired. The bus ride up I slept the whole way which actually helped me feel a bit better. Felt okay on the warm up so I decided to give the workout a shot. Not gonna lie it felt pretty terrible. The tempo part felt fine and I felt very controlled, but when it came time to the race part I just couldn't go. I saw Lizzy just increase her speed significantly ad I definitely feel like I stayed at the same pace. The whole second lap felt awful my legs felt like bricks and my breathing was struggling. Throughout the race I would have to cough because I would start to wheeze because of my cold. Finished the race and just felt wiped. For the next like 18 hours my breathing and chest felt funky after the race. Grace is sick too so I hope we are both a bit better by Saturday. If not, at least its early on in the season. Happy with the effort, now I just want to sleep.
