my time trial log is finally up. my season is officially over. The biggest thing is that this season existed at all. I'm so so lucky to get to be running in college and it made this fall so much better. The team is amazing and I look forward to practice every day. I can't wait for next year so that next xc season can start. I'm really grateful for this opportunity and I can't believe I get three more years. In terms of performance, I think it was generally pretty good. You can always hope for more, of course, but I don't think I can complain really. I'm in better shape now than I ever have been in my life. Going on runs feels really different than it used to. I used to assume that it would be painful and sometimes it would be good. Now I assume it'll be good and sometimes it's painful. It just feels so much easier. I made it through almost 5 months of training basically injury-free, which is something I've never experienced and really enjoyed. I ran way more in terms of volume than I ever have before and even ran up a mountain. So I'm pretty proud of that and love running more than ever. In terms of racing, it was pretty good. My 5k PR is still from my 6k. I'm calling my 5k PR now 22:49, which is over a minute in PR from last season, though presumably I could run faster when I don't have to do the extra k. It would have been nice to have run a fast 5k course to be able to have some nicer number to point to. There are also some girls I did workouts with but wasn't able to race with (though I was close in my last race of the season). I would have liked to have been able to stick with them in races more. I wish I had done a track 5k this week instead of the mile. The girl who I did workouts with most often ran 20:40 in her time trial. But overall, I'm happy and really looking forward to running again after some time off due to a strained muscle near my ribs from coughing. I'm planning to keep running all winter and spring and hopefully progress towards my goal of making track and also prepare for xc next fall
Extremely disappointed with my leaf count this season. I think it was only 6 in the end.
