Reenacting the Jacob Gaba Loop

December 21, 2016 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
At least partially. Wandered around on CCT side trails for a while. Had to stop after many of the hills. My breathing from this cold is still so bad that I cannot run up a hill without being winded and I sound like a dying cow even on flat parts of the trail. Nonetheless, I ran on the side trail along the CCT and up to Westmoreland Park, avoiding a dog bite in the process. I should be better by Friday, when I plan to do a out-and-back tempo. I think that it will be easier to pace alone than a hill workout would be. My pace is starting to recover from the depths of earlier this week, but I feel no rush to pace-push in general, but especially so in December. I also don't think I'm strong enough to go faster than 8:30 for any sustained period of time at this point in the season. I think that going faster on runs is a process that takes some getting used to and there has to be a motivating reason to go faster, otherwise I'll just meander along at 8:00+ pace and feel fine. Will do striders tomorrow.
