Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
1600 at St. Albans meet. Decently hot, but not as bad as the past two days. I felt tense again in my upper body, but at least a little more relaxed than I did on Saturday. I went out a little hard, sustaining 3rd for two laps, then got passed by Matt Kellenberg on STA on the third. I passed him back on the fourth, trying to kick the final lap, but after rounding the last turn he passed me back and finished just ahead of me.
Had a good talk with Leah after the race about keeping my head and eyes up, especially at the end of the race. The soreness in my hips according to Lead could have to do with looking down while racing since it puts more pressure on your hips as your upper body sags. Overall, I thought the race went well, and I'm happy that I negative split by a second (if I'm remembering Anthony's sheet correctly), coming through the 800 mark in about 2:35.
This will turn out to be a shorter milage week because of today's meet and the workouts yesterday and presumably coming Friday.
