Comments:
Raced the 3200 at MAC Championships. I was seeded 7th and sought to take the first mile on the easier side to speed up in the second mile or at least pass people. I ended up running a really fast first mile (5:16), but unlike my past two 32's I was able to keep my legs moving during the second half of the race, feeling fresh after a tapering week. I started out behind the pack, and I would keep passing a few people and then falling back. I ended up making some key passes on lap 7, and finished in 5th place. Although I positive split, I really was working hard in the second mile, and felt strained at certain points. I closed in 77, which probably could have been a bit faster, but I was so gassed at that point and was just looking to secure my place, not worrying about time. I ended up PRing by 15 seconds!! The first time I've PRed all of junior year! The cheering was great and really helped me through those last laps. I'm so proud of how everything came together at this last meet for the team.
