Not the drug but rather long, slow distance... although is there really any difference once you hit that runner's high? I think not.
The cool thing about "June Gloom" is the fact that you can hardly see the time on your running watch without having to bring it up to your face, let alone the endless expanse of trail that you have yet to cover. Both good things when you're only halfway into a 2.5 hour run (+6 minutes because am I even 'me' if I don't take a wrong turn at some point?) and already bleeding through one sock...
