Comments:
3.5 miles as follows:
Run .5 miles easy...
Run 3 miles starting at about 12:15 pace and progressing a bit each mile if possible.
So try to increase effort a tad bit each mile, which will make it a pretty fast 3 mile run.
I think after the .5 mile warmup, if you stick to 5 min run/30 sec. walk pattern you will be able to do this!
