Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Sunny, warm
Comments:
Woke up around 6:30am - James Barstad and his friend (can't remember the Florida guys name) were up and we chatted a bit. Helped James move some easy-ups and helped set up the a/s a bit.
Race-wise, shocked-but-not-shocked to have seen Jim summit in 39min with a 7min lead already. As Joe said: "Jim King-style running." Even Hal adopted that approach too. Just go!
Helped a bit more with the a/s and once I saw Jim had hit Duncan, figured I'd descend from RF and catch him running up. Sure enough, exactly 2mi's from RF I saw his powerful stride motoring up. Wished him well - he smiled back - and to gauge how fast he was running uphill - decided to "creep" behind for however long I could. That lasted 200m and Jim was out of sight. Amazing.
