Ran today around Cooper Lake which was exquisitely beautiful. I wish running-log was a more advanced site and I could insert a picture because it was really breathtaking, but I thought it looked like the way I imagine Swiss alps with a lake and no snow. I was aiming for 35 minutes, so the 17.5 minutes out were beautiful and I was feeling great. Around 12 minutes out I realized that probably most of how I was feeling was because I'd literally been going down hill half the time which worried me a little for the way back, but I didn't want to turn around early, so I just kept going down and tried to ignore the fact that I'd have to get back up it. The way back wasn't pleasant. It was 8 minutes of uphill slogging at practically a walking pace with no break, and I was dying, but I never actually walked, so I was very proud. I had to count my steps to get myself up, but I did it and got back 6 minutes slower than the way out (!). I was super dead, but proud of my fitness level that I was able to do this, and run over 40 minutes for the first time this summer even if some of it was a walking pace!!!
