Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
It's hard sitting around for a whole day waiting to race. I kept hydrated, but still felt bad approaching the starting line. My legs also were so tired. They had that feeling that you get the night of a meet day a few hours after you race: a tiring sort of hurt.

The race actually went ok. The sun was blaring in my eyes at certain points, and I lost focus on those parts. Other than that, I think that I did a decent job of getting as much out of myself as possible in the third mile. I took the first one out too fast, someone shouted out something like 5:55. Second mile I surged for the first little part of, then cooled it which was a bad strategy. I did the same for the third mile, with a small kick at the end on the track. It made such a difference being on that surface compared to the Kenilworth grass that plagues your ankles and your feet in terms of getting up on my toes for a final effort.

I'm looking forwards to my next race. I think I can make some major improvements in the coming weeks until Salesianum. Groin also felt normal during the race so I think I can go back to normal training on Monday, although this week may be a bit abnormal training wise because of Yom Kippur on Saturday. Amazing cheering and racing effort today from everyone. Keep it up!
