Ok going into this race, you have to know that you are fitter than ever!?I
I don't want you to even worry about pace too much, but just run as you feel. I think if you can bust your way through the crowd, you can get into a good group of runners that are running around 10 pace and hang with them. As usual, I want the first couple miles to feel comfortable, so that at around mile 3 or 4, we can start to take some chances and really start to put some effort in and pass a lot of runners that went out too fast.!
I know it's a hilly course. Make sure that you take any advantage you can of downhill or flat terrain.
If you keep things steady going up hill without fighting too much, I do think that you will be able to really save some time on the downhill portions!!
You are fit enough to run in the low 10's and even high 9's for all 6 miles but don't worry if things slow down on a hillier type mile.
The idea is to race this race and use your fitness to Run faster than ever trot you have done before.
I also want you to go and look back at some key workouts and runs you have had of late. The 6 mile wave run, the fast 800's, the quality long runs and of course your most recent 5k PR!!
