Districts Recap and Thoughts:)

October 24, 2009 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Well, first of all, I pretty much think we have the most genuine, wonderful, amazing people on our team. You all have no idea how blessed I feel to have gotten to know you all. People always say that cross country runners always seem to be great people. But this year, I was convinced plus a little of that saying. You all are totally amazing and I'm so grateful that God placed you all in my life. (I don't know why but I'm kinda tearing up a bit right now:) haha)
Anyways, about my race:
All through out today, I was thinking: "Molly, today you are GOING to keep up with Rachael. Remember how awful you felt the last two races when you didn't? Well, today you will." Aside from bringing glory to God, this was my MAIN goal and I achieved it! I couldn't have done it without Rachael. She is the best running partner anyone could ever have and I am so excited for next cross country season where we will get to start the rivalry up all over again! :)

First mile: Feeling good! I loved my spikes! They kinda sucked on the pavement, but I would just move over onto the grass and it was all good. We had a pack going this mile: Rachael, Kerrie, Meghan, Sarah, and me. BOY, did this help out a ton!! We were encouraging eachother the whole way! It was so nice to have a little "runners support group" through out this mile:) If someone fell back we would scream their name and they'd be right up with us again! When we surged, we did it together. IT was absolutely amazing and I've never loved running so much than I did this mile. I would also like to know what the other runners were thinking when we were yelling at eachother...haha

Second Mile: Our group started falling apart a little, but we were still together for the most part kinda. I think it was basically just me, meghan, and rachael at this point...but I may be wrong. I rememer Brice yelling at us three to surge ahead and it felt like we were sprinting but I dont think we were...haha. But we passed this huge group of people TOGETHER and it was FUN. Then Meghan beasted it out and broke off of me and rachael and I tried to be a "barnacle" but failed so me and rachael were two little barnacles with no whale. So we stuck to one another:) This Mtn. View girl was running with us and I could tell she was falling back so I said, "Come on! Stick with us!" but she didn't (not gonna lie, I was really happy to pass a mtn view person:D). I was getting soo tired and I could tell that Rachael was too so I said, "Lord, please give us new strength and help us to finish strong!!" And me and Rachael high fived and yelled AMEN! haha, it was really funny to me for some reason. Maybe I was just having fun:) probably.

Third Mile: MAN. HARD MILE. I could tell I was going faster which seemed weird cuz i was so stinking tired. But Rachael stayed with me and I with her and I couldn't have gone faster if it wasn't for her. At the finish we passed so many people together!! It was awesome! I remember Chelsea yelling "19!" at me and for a second I thought she meant time! But obviously, it was my placement since that would pretty much be impossible for me at this point in my running reltionship:). But it made me go faster and I thought I was going to cry but i kept passing people and finally reached the finish of my happy race.

After the race, me and Rachael looked at our times and jumped up and down and hugged and couldn't stop smiling the whole day. :) I love races, where God is my center. And that was what this race was. When I focus on Him in races I seem to do best. Weird, right?! No, not at all. :)That's just how my God is: Amazing.

so I just want to thank Rachael, for being my running buddy this season. Next season, I'm going to cherish every run we have together and we're gonna make lots of race memories, k?! I love you so much!!

And I also want to thank the coaches. You have been absolutely amazing this season. I was totally taken aback at how much you really cared for everyone on this team. Few coaches are like that, and I'm so lucky to have you guys:)

Thank you everyone, for an amazing season. I will never forget it. :)
