Tough workout. We did 3x3:00 w/ 2:00 jog, then 4x2:00 w/ 2:00 jog all at 5k pace. We were in lane 2 so it was hard to get an exact pace calculation but when I checked my watch we were usually hitting 38's per 200.

This workout is definitely deceptively difficult (what's up alliteration?). It doesn't seem hard, but what makes these workouts challenging is to keep yourself moving for the jogs. If it was standing rest this workout would be a joke.

I actually had company for this workout for a change. Red Cap hung with me the whole time, and Ryan Whinnery would always catch up on the jogs but go slower on the intervals. Red Cap counted 42 laps in the second lane, and lane 2 is what, 9 meters longer than the first lane? So 42*200 + 9*42 = 8778 meters approximately.

EDIT:I think red cap is #FakeNews and miscounted the laps. I think we ran a lesser distance.
We ran a total of 17:00 at about 5:06/mile pace. That would be 3.33 miles.
For the recovery we ran for 14 minutes at about 8:00/mile pace. that is 1.75 miles.
3.33 + 1.75 = 5.08 miles. There is no way we were going much faster than 5:06 pace for the hard intervals. Given that, we would have had to be running sub 7:00 pace on the jogs to get to Red Cap's claimed distance. We obviously weren't going much faster than 8:00 pace on the jogs so I think my calculations are farm ore accurate and less error-prone than counting laps.

Good stuff. My legs are still pretty sore so I am looking forward to good recovery over the next few days. I say that now but I'll probs be drinking a lot so rip to that haha.
