Levi and I were in the 32 at Prep. Felt decent going in, but pretty soon into the race I realized that I wasn't hydrated enough. Next time I'm in this situation, I'll wake up earlier so I can get more water in before racing–although it's tough when your race gets moved up almost a half hour! Either way, I tried to stay relaxed during the first half, which was pretty successful. They combined heats, which made it a little annoying at the start with the 20-25 people or so, but it all settled together after the first 400m. I felt very unmotivated for some reason during the third 800. I guess I just need to get re-acclimated to this race, which I think this race served to do, before States. I feel ready to race it again then, and I hope I can conquer that 3rd 800 and keep my mind in it when the going gets tough. End result was about 13 or so seconds faster than when I raced the 32 at States last year, so I'm happy with my progress, but I really broke down in the middle of this race and I know I can do much better than how I did.
