Y'ALL ARE SOFT

February 26, 2018 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
So I woke up this morning feeling very tired and sore, even though I got 9.5 hours of sleep last night. However I got very little sleep on Friday and Saturday night, and evidently getting blasted on Saturday night after a race is not the best recovery lol. Who would've thought? So I was worried about failing tonight's workout, but after my easy swimming earlier and as the day progressed I felt better.

It was gorgeous weather for tonight's workout. 40 degrees, no wind, under the stars. Y'all must have been REAL soft to not have gone outside for the workout. Sorry, didn't realize we have another indoor race. So it was just me and Red Cap running together because Red Cap is a baller. But unfortunately he left his Red Cap at home so tonight I was actually running with someone named Jack Aman.

We did 8x1000m @ 5k pace w/600m jog. So same as 2 weeks ago, except this was outside. Coach Wes showed up to jog with us after our 6th one. And in the dark, there was this girl also running around the track that looked a lot like Steph Batterbee. Wes went up to her and started talking to her, but this girl was definitely not Steph lol. I think Wes scared her away because she left right after that lmao.

This workout was EXCELLENT. Things started to get easier as we progressed and got more warmed up n shit. Jack usually finished a few seconds or so behind me on each interval. Splits:

3:10.6
3:08.2
3:09.3
3:07.2
3:07.9
3:07.6
3:06.5
2:56.2

avg. 3:06.7 (pace for a 15:33.5 5k)

Yeah I went full send on the last one. I hit 70 at the 400, 2:23 at the 800, and then my last 200 was a 33.

I see no reason why I can't be under 15:30 at NIRCA Nats and under 32:30 at Hillsdale. I'm calling my shot right here. According to the Runner's World race predictor, based off my 3k time I should be able to run a 15:31 5k. And my 3k was indoors, so I am really not thinking too crazy.

It is soooo nice to to be running outside. This was a perfect workout to begin the outdoor #SZN.

That being said, I don't EVER want to hear any of you SOFT Michiganders complain about winter again. Back in Minny, there is still a few feet of snow on the ground and it's in the high 20's. Here, it's in the 40's and snowless, so FOH.

Btw I've made the decision that my hair is coming off on Friday. Gotta lose this shag before Sprang Break.
