Some really awesome performances today! Was a draining day, but the races were super exciting to watch and I enjoyed being there with the small portion of the team that made it out.

I raced the 1600, with the (somewhat) specific goal of PRing, and thus going sub-five. I've thought about it a lot in the past weeks, and I anticipated that it would not feel very satisfying. I was right. I'm glad that I was able to push the first three laps really hard (71, 75, 75-- I believe) but my last lap I had absolutely no gas left in the tank (76). If I had a good kick in me, or if I had gone out with the front pack (who I eventually worked up to, and passed a couple of guys) I can see myself being able to at least race Arjun from Sidwell in a 16 or 32 for a decent portion of the race. This wasn't a competitive mindset meet for me or anyone else really, but the most satisfying part was actually beating the two Sidwell kids that were seeded above me. I'm just happy to finally be below the arbitrary line so I can attack the rest of the season with a clear mind.

Also, the Episcopal track stinks.
