shooting for 40 miles!!!!

Not sure if you can set your watch to this, but I honestly think the first two loops or first 26ish miles you should plan for 30 sec. to 1 min walks EVERY mile.
This does not include your pit stops. But I think starting with the idea that you are NOT running continuously for 40 miles will help both legs and mind to be able to get through.

On the third 13.1 loop if you feel good and just want to finish, then you can forget the walks. But obviously, you will still need a couple pit stops for food and drink.


The other pattern you could try is 10 minrun/1 min walk pattern, but I think running a mile, taking a walk and then going again might be more motivating.

I also really think you should try some Gatorade a few times.
If you plant it on the route ahead of time it will help with electrolyte function. Water is not enough!!!

hi.. ended up doing 26...had to stop because of a prev conflict (graduation party). 40 miles takes a long time..felt ok at the end.
