WTF just happened

HOLY SHIT, WHERE DID THAT COME FROM? WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS THAT? Like I just ran the 2nd longest I've run, at the fastest pace. 6:26 per mile for 18 miles, I didn't even know I had that in me. WTF

I came into this long with a goal of holding 6:40s for 18 miles. Since my previous long run route was pretty much undoable, I traveled 20 minutes to River Valley High School (New Buffalo biggest/saddest rival. I did a new route that was a loop from River Valley to the small town of Galien. I put on my head phones and started the run.

I never once looked at my phone until Mile 9. The entire run was out in the country, so there wasn't a lot going on. I only stopped at Mile 9, because I accidentally went too far and missed a crucial turn. Even when I stopped though, I didn't look at the pace. I knew and felt like I was going fast, but I didn't know how fast. Also at mile 12, I chewed a piece of some run gum as my legs were tightening up.

At mile 15, I stopped in someone's wooded yard to take a shit (this time I brought some toilet paper) and that's where I checked out my pace. At that point, I figured I might as well maintain it until the end. And fuck yeah I did!!!!!

Man, I'm gonna feel like I got hit by a train tomorrow. If this run doesn't destroy my body, then this shows that @JacobYoung was right. Maybe I'm capable of more than I think for this Bayshore Marathon in a week and a half. Definitely not gonna go out like I did today, but I think I have a decent shot at breaking 3 and get a BQ (even though I probably wouldn't run it until 2020). I guess we shall see. But definitely the best long run I've ever done, LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO BAYSHORE!
