Light workout

June 5, 2018 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
My friend Lina met me at the Harvard track for what I thought was going to be a sprint workout. She had been a sprinter in high school and had recently joined a running club. Fortunately for my marathon-weary legs, she told me she wanted to start preparing for a half-marathon. I came up with on the spot what I thought would be a good gateway workout for a sprinter looking to get into distance: 2x800m, 2x400m, 2x200m. I didn't put too much thought into it, but my instincts turned out to be right: part-new and part-familiar, with the distances getting shorter and thus easier psychologically. We had a good time and the pace was easy enough that I didn't really have to strain. Jogging back to Cambridge afterward for a massive pancake breakfast, my Achilles tendon was noticeably tight.
