Today, I headed up to Almont to meet up with Wes and the Raider again. But today was a little bit different. Wes texted me earlier and told me that some pros were coming out, which included Rachel Schulist. Wild Wes is pulling some major power moves with getting pros to come out. What a guy!

So, Rachel comes with another pro runner for the Brooks Hansen group named Ann Marier Blaney. I'm looking up her times just as I'm writing this and her track 5K is 15:43, her 8K is 26:48, and her 10K is 32:57. RIP to me, I just need to straight up die. And if you didn't know Rachel Schulist, she's run 9:01 in the 3K (So sorry @BJ) and 15:36 in the 5K AND all-american in NCAA Cross. So though they're semi-pros also working at the Hansons store, they're legit af.

I ended up talking to them at the beginning and they were pretty cool. They had a Q & A session with the kids, but the kids were like "who?". I'm pretty sure they didn't know you could even run professionally, but after Wes and I got the questions started, the kids talked more and I think appreciated the experience.

Rachel and Ann Marie also wanted to entertain the kids, so they made me and Wes race a 100m. Now, I'd love to brag that I destroyed Wes; however, a high schooler joined the race and dicked on me as well. So, I wasn't going 100% all out because my legs felt like ass, but we both dicked in by a high schooler. We probably need to take a trip to Hubbard.

But i ended up running with Wes's top guy, Jackson, for 7 miles. The high schooler who out sprinted us hung on for the first 1.5, but couldn't hang onto our 7:25 pace lmao. To be fair, I'm pretty sure he was massively concussed, but I don't know man. Almont is a wild place.

I felt like ass on the run, but got through it. Jackson's a nice kid and I think Wes is gonna lead him and the rest of the team to some good success this year. Looking forward to seeing the progress! Go RAIDERS

Also I'm curious to see how these kids handle Tommy B as their summer camp counselor next weekend. That's going to be absolutely wild!
