Third Battle

Best race of my life. This could seriously be my life peak. I started my first mile out pretty strong. There were so many girls around me and the first 800 was pretty aggressive. Lots of people were throwing elbows and I tried to not get boxed in. Ended up getting shoved around a little and had to expend more energy than I would have liked weaving around girls for most of the first mile. I came through the first mile in 6:25 the exact time I had hoped for. I was getting a little freaked out at how fast I was going. I'd never started out a race that fast. I saw jack and a ton of GDS teammates cheering as soon as I exited the woods which gave me a boost of energy going into the second mile. The second mile I focussed on passing people. I was able to pass around 10 girls during my second mile and I just focussed on putting one foot in front of the other. Going into the third mile I started to speed up a lot. I don't know what my splits are but I'm certain it was a negative split. I crossed the finish line in 19:54. I time I never thought I'd be able to run. I will always remember that race.
