3.5 mi steady state, 6 x 400 indoors

December 3, 2018 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Second workout of the season crept up. We had to tell Tom today what we wanted to race, but it was clear that I was supposed to be in the mile, according to Tom, the "pretty boy race." So, I'm pretty nervous for that on Saturday. There's something so much more intimidating about racing on a track for me than racing on a course, especially for the mile, which I've never been particularly strong at (going into this season I have the slowest PR on the team). I want to run the 5k, but I'll have to be patient. It's super easy to doubt myself right now, but I know I just need to buckle down and run hard and compete on Saturday.

For the workout itself, it wasn't the worst or the best thing ever. I was also nervous for track workouts going into college, but this was not any harder than anything I've done before. In fact, it was probably easier. The first 3 400s were supposed to be at mile pace, the second 3 at 5k pace. Steady state at beforehand felt nice as well. Splits:

76, 74, 72; 82, 80, 81.

Strength: planks, pll, crunches, 6 inches, claims w/ band.
