Today marks three weeks since I was cleared to run. I've been putting off logging because of how little I've been able to do and how slow the recovery process has been.

It's been about 6 months since I've felt zero pain while running. Today I ran 2.5 miles so I thought I'd hop back on to running-log and tell the world that I'm on the right track (no pun intended.) Hopefully this time I'm here to stay!!

Three weeks ago I ran a pain-free 400 meters on the treadmill at PT. I seriously can't remember a time I'd been that happy after a "run." I had a smile plastered to my face the whole day. Two days later, running 800 meters felt even better.

While I've never gone this long without running, or gone on runs this short, I'm SO thankful that I'm finally in a place where I can finish a run without a burning pain in my foot.

I'm excited to see what the rest of my summer training brings, and I'm hoping to start the XC season with fresh legs and an injury-free foot. Running with Anthony last week gave me a new appreciation for how far I've come. The past 2.5 weeks I've only been focussed on how little I can do, but now I'm going to keep my eyes forward and appreciate what my body is able to do.
