Good outing with Mike, Tracy, Sara, and Ryan! Mike and Sara has done this “run” on the Oregon Coast Trail last year and raves about it. What they didn’t mention was how hard it was! F! Btw: As I’ve said before, Sara always amazes me at how fast and strong she can run uphill - this freaking trail - 2mi’s to the summit was steep-ass roots, rocks, logs, and “cut through” trail. Tough, but fun! We made it to the summit in 33min - descended the backside to add on some mileage then came back to officially Summit (100m of rock scrambling to top). 15min later then the Kelly clan came.
On the descent - which is Sketch AF if you’re not careful! - Sara led the whole thing and absolutely dominated the downhill. We were taking risks for sure - “flying” - at 10min pace just to show how technical the trail was - and we were pushing! So effing fun! So glad I got to check out this trail. And upon scouting the fastest Downhill split on Strava (just over 20min) - saw DEEBZ ran this trail in ‘16 - random!
