Workout at Whitman

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
I met Annie and Whitman to do our workout. After we got there we spent so long trying to find either a short part of the fence or an opening because there were a few people on the field so we knew there was a way in. We walked halfway around it and realized that the first fence we saw was the shortest so we climbed over it pretty easily and we were able to enter. Both Annie’s and my parents only allowed us to do this if we stayed 6 feet apart so we tried our best to do that. We were aiming for 12 400 at our pr mile pace. So I was supposed to be running 1:22.5. And we had rest time equal to our running time (about 1:22). We did a warmup 800 and then did warmups and 6 striders then we started. I felt good for the first few then it became harder to get consistent times so we added a few minutes to our jogging break at the halfway point. We had 4 left and we were both pretty dead so we decided we would rather have 2 more good ones than 4 okay ones so we did that. And then we added a 200 at the end for fun. It was a fun workout and super nice to do it with someone.

I think the hardest part of the workout was figuring out the pacing because usually I can pace off of someone but every 400 felt like a shot in the dark trying to get the pace right.
