Set alarm for 5:45am but still didn't go to sleep until around 9:50ish...did not wake up though straight up slept, had weird dreams. Snooze until about 6:00am then knew I had to get going. Bad wake up and feeling which sucked, stuffy nose. Crushed a nature valley bar, little coffee, shit. Drank some water, did a quick stretch routine, packed the cooler and car and was off to the track. Started the warm up at 7:00am and felt kind of tired/heavy...it was humid as fuck and warm so nervous...was pouring sweat at the start. Did 2 strides in the vaporflies included in the warm up. Did not use inserts and feet did not get as tired as the endorphin pros. Initially vaporflies felt very cushioned and springy but not as propelling as the endorphins. First rep I slacked on the third lap and ran an easy 5:26. Did 1 lap and some recovery. Decided to dial it in from here on out. Next rep honestly, felt it towards the end...not a great sign this early on but hit 5:19. Same one lap recovery, water, little jog up another one. 5:18 starting to feel it. One lap recovery, water, another one 5:18. Im deciding in my mind to do 5 or 6 reps but I knew I was doing 6. Lap jog recovery, quick piss, water, so this was probably longer recovery like 3:00. 5:18, last lap was tough. Now I'm tired but know I only have 4 more laps to go. Lap recovery, water, little jog, hit it. 5:15 last rep. Was def the hardest I think, last lap was tough but last 200 wasn't bad, little juice at the end. Overall I am happy with how I felt and what i was able to do. Still need to hone in the recovery...water and piss breaks are making it less even but I stopped my watch this time to make pacing more accurate. Since I was late, only 2.00 cool down but good overall distance. Garmin at productive, vo2 70, load 777...Add prob .12 to vaporflies
Rest: There was 2:47 seconds of watch stoppage...ugh. I'm going to say 1:00, maybe more is attributed to the piss break rest between rep 4 and 5. That rep rest was probably 3:30ish...basically we can say the rest for these reps avg was 2:45...not terrible I guess
