Comments:
Woke up at 5:00, out of bed around 5:15-18. Had half and everything bagel with natural skippy PB and 1/2 banana. had a few sips of coffee, stretched, took a shit. Had about 16-20oz of water total before the race I think. Warm up at 6:15 did 2 miles easy. Got to the track did full active warm up and leg swings. Put on vaporflys and did 2 strides. Got out the kinks and went for it. First lap was quick like 75ish, settled in. First mile was 5:17-18 I think, felt smooth. Was just counting laps the whole time 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,8..ect. Second mile was even I think right on 10:37 or so. After this GPS was too out of sync to check so was really just hoping I wasn't slowing down. Breaking down the miles in my head def helped. Felt a little tight and heavy during the third mile but knew I had to keep it up. Mile 4 rolled around and I was still in good shape. Stuck with the pace maybe even picked it up. Last 5 laps were for sure quicker, I think. Started to feel fatigue with 3ish to go but was able to hang on and kick a little the last 400 and 200 and 100. 25 laps in 32:44.6. Goal was to break 33 so I am happy. Yes, i probably could have ran faster in a real race but this is a good solo effort. Im happy with how I ran and how I didn't die. Cool down easy 3 at 2.5 I got an awful cramp had to stop. Rounded out at 3. When I woke up the garmin was still at recovery with vo2 71 and load 341. After the race I saw the vo2 72 and peaking but after the cool down 71, peaking and load of 567. Recovery at 47 hours. Race predictors now at 15:31, 32:48, 1:12:15, 2:33:44. 10K was pretty accurate interesting. Now onto the half in October.
