Meet Virginia (part IV)

September 15, 2020 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
After my PT appointment in Virginia Square, I set about exploring some of the tributaries off the Potomoc that flow under the GW Parkway. Started by making my way up Donaldson Run, then curved around through Dorothy Hamm Middle School (the first integrated school in Virginia according to a plaque), and back down along the Windy Branch trail to the Potomoc. There was a waterfall just before I got to the Potomac Heritage Trail which runs along the shoreline. Followed that all the way its starting point at Teddy Roosevelt Island where we play foxes and hounds, and then came back on the Custis Trail which follows I-66. It was more mileage than I was planning to do, and pretty slow after yesterday's self-imposed hilly challenge, but felt good to get out there and exert myself.
