Shut Off The Brain

I was having a very bad day today so naturally I waited until the last possible minute as the sun was setting to head out for the run that I though might improve my mood...cause I'm very smart. Ended up being nice anyway though. Perfect weather (though no leaves falling, sadly) and while it didn't completely flip my mood, running definitely worked its usual magic and made the world seem not quite as horrible as it's been seeming. Very grateful for this sport. I've been feeling very in my head recently, so it was really nice to shut off my brain for 20 minutes and feel more in my body. I did a long, building-in-speed strider the last two blocks before home and sprinting was fun. I don't think I've sprinted all out since GDS track. I should be better about running more often. It's good for the old noggin.
