Ok girl I think we’ve come a long way since the Turkey trot!
You have progressively improved in both speed and distance despite some short layoffs for back, sickness etc.


I think if you look at your interval workouts like on 12/7 or 12/28 where you are running at sub 8 and sub 7, plus you combine with some tempo stuff all at 8 min pace or faster ( your last 5k), there is no reason why you can’t go out with a faster type crowds in the 7’s.

Again, there is no big pressure to do anything big. All we want to do is see where you are at.
It’s a pretty flat course and will be cold so I truly think if you go out around 7:45 pace, you will be able to maintain and speed up from there!!!


Let’s make sure you warm up well. Get some jogging and strides in.
My main goal for you in this race is to make the first 1 to 1.5 like you aren’t pushing too hard.
I want it to feel comfortably hard so that at 1.5 or 2, you can rise it up a notch effort wise!!!

As usual, if you focus on racing instead of exact pacing, the rest will take care of itself!!!
