June 28, 2025 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
I was so exhausted yesterday and had to get up kinda early today. It was nice little morning, kinda warm and humid. I realized its been a week since running as I got out for a warm up around Madison and Erie. I was feeling fine to be honest. Didnt have as much time as I thought though and had to get ready with my shoes down to the start line. I opted for breakfast because I didnt eat lunch yesterday. It wasnt too bad. I was just expecting to run around sub 7 pace honestly because I knew I didnt treat myself well last week or so. Started out and was ambitious. First mile was quick around 6:35-6:40 and that would have been awesome to hold. However, found that as we wrapped around Wasson I did not have it in me today. I dialed off the pace considerable and just tried to keep moving forward. It got down to normal/tempo pace as I came around UDF. Did push up the hill on Erie well to the 3 mile, then coasted alone in the last mile. I felt fatigued overall, like I started too fast, but mostly I didnt have the necessary tools to run that race. HR was around tempo pace when I finished though so maybe I am in better shape, but body is not adjusted to racing at all. Im not surprised because I really pushed myself last week for other things. 7 min pace throughout, then 7:18 for the last mile really showed. Cool down was ok. Groin and left Achilles tightened up a lot and I just made my way to get in what I needed.
Essentials: Stretch
Nice stretch back at the square as the morning part wound down. I walked a bit to keep moving, watched the kid race, but then noticed that it was starting to get warm and the sun was coming out. Hope it doesn't get too hot for the rest of the day.
