Today was about getting in the last sights I could. Looking forward to a full day still. I started out getting down to City Hall for a tour. Rick definitely recommended it. Its where they do the Nobel Prize award ceremony, which is pretty cool. It was very busy with buses and tourist groups so I had some time to walk about the neighborhood of Kungholmen too, which I hadn't been to yet. Its very very classy. The tour was great and when it was all said and done, it was around lunch time. I kinda skipped lunch and just started walking across town, wandering back over to Ostermalm. I got caught in another rendition of the parade which was cool because the band was on horses this time. I honestly didnt know one could do that. Before I knew it I was just a few blocks away from the Olympic stadium from 1912. As I got over there, it started to rain, and then rain really hard. I couldn't quite figure out how to get into the stadium even though I saw people running around it. The rain was really coming down and I had to hide under a tree a little bit before finally making my way over to KTH. I really wanted to see the campus, but it was still raining and I was getting too wet. I hunkered down for as long as I could and the rain started to let up. By then, I needed to pee and was ready for a museum so I walked back through Ostermalm to the Swedish History Museum. It was closed Monday so I couldn't get into it before but it was very very good. Better than the National Museum. I had a goofy Viking exhibit (Viking World?) but very nice artwork and Renaissance pieces. I was able to spend quite a bit of time there but was getting really really hungry. Grabbed some fast casual pizza (ate the entire thing) then wandered about as the day was ending. Lots of people out heading to cafes, get drinks, dinner, just chilling and being part of the city. I ended down on the river near the old city just taking in my last bit of what I could get out of Stockholm. TBH, felt like a local like I kinda knew what was going on and where to go. I had retraced my steps enough over the past 3 days. Thats what Rick wants us to achieve. This whole trip was really on a whim too and looking back, Im proud of myself for stepping up and making the decision to go. Racked up 11.5 miles today and my legs felt it. Plus I have to get up really early tomorrow. I got to say, solid solid experience. Stockholm and Sweden gained another fan.
