St. Patty's day recovery run

Amidst St. Patty's day delusion, I made plans to go running at 7:45am with two random 19/20-year old guys that we met at Cock 'N Bull. Since they were both semi-professional soccer players I figured they'd have no trouble running that early in the morning (maybe that was the four beers I had that were thinking for me...). Got home a bit before 2am, passed out with the light still on, then woke up to my alarm at 7:20am, feeling okay, but not eager to run. I dragged myself to our agreed upon meeting spot... and surprise, surprise - there was no one there (despite our having pinky sweared a million times that we wouldn't bail. Mind you, they had been drinking since 4pm, so they were likely in worse shape than me). I ended up having one of the best runs of my life. Went all over Cote des Neiges, to Westmount Park, down and back up Atwater hill, and home. Tracking the run on mapmyrun later was anything but easy. I'm so proud of myself!! Near-record distance after 4 beers and 5 hours of sleep. Booyah! Maybe there is some truth to the Beer Mile after all. :)
