Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
run at GRC, was pretty worried leading up to it, but the legs felt pretty good,
eastbay shorts and trainers
started off slow, with the lead group but we always start up slow which I love, I need time to WU.
when we got to the bridge I let people go on the up hill, wanted to use as little energy as possible, just used turnover to stay with them.
went on the inside and dropped to the back,
when I was at 1.45 moved to the outside of the group. at 12:30 I went for it.
First one went well, went out a lil too quick, 5:08 or so, i dunno i was a lil too busy to look, might upload the watch and see what it says.
ended up running exactly 2:00 at a good pace, aerobically I was breathing really hard, but legs were fine. Tried to keep picking it up but it wasn't easy until I had gone a good bit. Would have been able to with a training partner.
went to the bridge and was at 21:30, so decided to get water and delay the next rep. water and bathroom, started off gave myself 25 sec or so to get into it and I went.
there was a bit of elevation but I held good effort. I don't remember what I was focusing on, I think just doing little things to go faster so i could catch this biker. caught him and went back through the opposite side of the path as always.
was a lil rough going back, but really tried to keep it at a good pace. Prob wasnt much sub 8, but it was effort that mattered.
was glad to get a break at the traffic light, pressed it up that windy hill. saw some people and asked how far the kids were ahead. 8 minutes... kenny pushed the pace
once I got onto willard i stayed relaxed and than pushed the last bit or so, than cool down to the store.
went in and drank my gatorade. got shirt, talked to camille, but people came out so we didn't talk long, she wasnt in a great mood...?
walked around the block. drank more, stretched
slice of pizza, talked to the brooks guy
Overall good run, very pleased with it. Need to get used to the pace a little bit. Kinda wanted more work...
