Weather: a little hot

Comments:
I'm very happy with this race! I have to say though, i slugged it a little in the third mile, so i couldve worked harder on not letting people pass me. but, besides that, it went really well! i wasnt exhausted by the heat at all, probably because i drank a ton of water yesterday and the morning of the race. for some reason i just had so much energy, and i was actually happy to be racing! i wasnt stressed at all, and i'm sure that helped with my outcome. I got to wear my new varsity jersey (yay!), and Kristina's spikes, which helped TREMENDOUSLY! i felt so much lighter it was amazing! i'm totally buying some ASAP!
ok mile-by-mile: so the first mile, everyone was still really bunched up, but i used a little elbow to push my way through. i made an effort to pump my arms and accelerate up any uphill there was, and i sped up around the turns also. My first mile was my fastest- 6:47. right after the first mile, i caught up to molly, then kept working my way up. i powered up the hill and made sure to take long, fast strides downhill and carry momentum as long as possible. the third mile, like i said before, was a little sluggish through the middle, but i still tried to power up the hill and back down to pass people. when i was coming up to that last hairpin turn to the finish, Brice told me to pass five people and do it NOW! so i did, and i passed five people at the finish!!! I got 1:01 faster than last year at this course, and i was ONE SECOND AWAY FROM MY PR!!!! i'm so excited that I improved so much. i got a faster time here than i did at Silverwood! so now i'm super pumped for Bend, and i'm going to break 22! YAYYYY!
