Comments:
reputed to be the "hardest workout of the season," the michigan did not fail to impress and exhaust. we took out the first mile fast, but i felt comfortable hanging with the top pack. however, i think i broke into my lactate threshold during only that first interval. the first tempo was fine, controlled. the 1200 felt decent, but sore for the first 800, and then i dropped off the pack significantly. the second tempo felt great. the 800 was decent, i think i put more effort than needed. another good tempo mile. the 400 was controlled; i felt strong. i really didn't expect that last tempo to be so rough. i got caught all alone with half a mile left, and ran on what energy i had left, which wasn't much. we cooled down a mile back to veale.
strength training was a bunch of jumping stuff, which felt pretty good. did some abs, pushups, and icebathed. a long day...
