Last night, I pulled up my Christmas Break running logs from two years ago and did a detailed comparison to this year. I have sucked this year and don't see how I could ever expect a good track season with that kind of sorry excuse for training. I need to get it in gear before it's too late.
So today, I told myself I would start off around 6:45 pace and try to work the middle miles. That's not what happened at all because I started off at 5:45 and slowed from there (this was supposed to be moderate-paced, not a workout). I positive split by 44 seconds, mostly from the wind. My face was numb from the wind on the way back and my eyes were starting to freeze. I was underdressed and should have worn a hat. I was more cold than tired, but I stopped multiple times at lights. The footing was really bad in a couple places but fine for most the run.
