Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
had the 145 test immediately after lab today. the test and lab went well, it was just a busy morning. after lunch i hung out in the balcony a bit before going out to run on van horn. the field was a little muddy, but i really like running on the softer surface--so worth it. i think i ran about a mile and a half, but it was probably a bit more. i went back inside to stretch and wait for coach to come and do steeple drills with us. things were going well until we actually had to jump over things. we started with trail legs, and i was going over the 36" hurdle (competition height). keep in mind that the only time i did any kind of running through hurdles was when my foot first started to hurt. and that was at the baby height on the yellow hurdles. so my hip kinda hurt from trying to get over these.
we lowered the height and proceeded to do lead leg, which i think i did wrong, then actual hurdling, which was awful. i could just not get it right. i was going to go ahead and just do some walkovers, but coach said "one more" so i did one more, and then again and again.
my foot started to hurt sometime in the middle of these last run-overs, but i got the form a little better after advice from jurcak. but it sucked that my foot hurt. it was actually kind of bad. i should have said something. but i didn't. and i regret it. at least coach said that i won't be doing any more on the indoor track. i think that makes a huge difference. also i'm not doing any kind of run overs during break--the goal is to ensure that my foot is completely healed and that i am ready to compete for outdoor.
