Finally got to meet with the Hip Specialist. Fortunately, this was the very first doctor that could get the pain to come out exactly as I feel it and he GOT ME AN ANSWER. The doctor was incredible and is very sure of his diagnosis. His diagnosis is that I have a labral tear in my hip. This was caused due to a type of Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI). Ya, big words are fun... Heres what it is... http://www.hipfai.com/
--> according to him, I have the CAM type.

There are 3 solutions to this problem. The 1st and 2nd I have already done, which were time off to calm it down and rehab...both I have attempted. The last solution is surgery, which is what I am doing. The doc says that the surgery will have to happen eventually, either to get me back to running or to prevent arthritis in later years. The surgery is scheduled for spring break at this time. The recovery time is about 6 months, which includes 5 weeks on crutches. According to the doc, I should be able to return to competitive running at 6 months. The surgery basically involves repairing the tear and shaving down the bone so that it does not tear again. Fun stuff..

To be completely honest, the only thing that has me pissed off is that this could have been solved last year. I gave this Hip Specialist my x-rays and MRIs that I had done last year. All the docs at Case said everything was normal and fine...this doc looked at the MRI I had done and said he does not agree with them...He could see this was there back then.......
