tight back, tired body, trails

November 21, 2011 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: humid, surprisingly warm 60

Comments:
Not very comfortable in any way, shape, or form on this run. Hot enough that I had to take off my shirt for the first time in years. Back tightened up after 7 minutes. A stretching break at 10 minutes gave a few minutes of relief, but it was a factor for most of the run. Entire body still tight from the football... which I think stressed the back, along with the clamoring over rocks and repeated creek crossings. Parked alongside Donaldson Run in Arlington and made my way down the creek to the Potomac Heritage Trail and along it for a mile southwards. On the return trip, I foolishly went up a hill trail and entered the Potomac overlook Park trail system, site of my glorious 5km victory nearly 20 years ago. I can still taste the first place bag of homemade cookies I won for that effort. I wasn't moving as fast today, nor leaping off any embankments into the creek.

After the run, I jumped in the car and drove 5 minutes to PT where he magically reset me and my back has been dandy for the rest of the day. (Well, it was a little tired while cookiing dinner at night.) ...caught three leaves.
