Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Finally made it to BU. The track was incredible, something I have never really seen before. Turns were long, straights were short. There were great races to watch today, all of the finals. On the warm up run my legs started to feel a little better, and we passed a lot of our competition. I spent this morning looking at the heat sheets and I knew this one would be hotly contested. Little did I know that I would almost get second against that elite field. Right before our race, Ford Palmer won the 1000 championship. Good for him. When I stepped on the line, I suddenly wasn't nervous anymore. I just waanted to go run a fast time, and go hard. I went hard. The race went out on 72, and then we dropped some 69's to hit 1200 right on 3:30. Mile was 4:39, and two mile was 9:19. I felt so smooth, and Tyler was right there on my hip the whole time. I needed a 70 to run 14:35. I closed in a 64, 31 second last lap. I was edged out for second by a hair by a William and Mary kid, the second of two that beat me (They went 1-2 in the heat). I ran 14:29.31, something to be proud of and a huge PR. The in-run strides I have been doing lately with Ty are helping so much. Every time there was a surge in the race, I felt like I covered it so effortlessly. Evans, Ty, and I did four on our cooldown. Evans ran 14:21 today, starting out at a blistering pace in the fast heat but couldn't quite hold on to run faster than what he did last year. He is back though, that's for sure. I can't wait to run with him outdoors this year. I have never been more confident in my life. That 5k felt easy. I just need to peak, and work on my fitness some more, and I will drop a school record outdoors. I can do it. I can also go to NCAA East. It's gonna happen.
