State Qualifier!

We're going to states! I ran the 4x800 and 4x400 today. In the 4x800 we knew our only competition was going to be Elmira, and we knew that we wanted to run a really well so that we could have a good seed time at states. Khiere just barely out kicked Maddie, so the little 7th or 8th grader was a head of me at the start. There was no way that I was going to let her think she had a chance at winning this at all, so I passed her right away and ended up going out in a 30...oops. Probably not the best thing for my race, but it broke her so much that Abby and Melinda weren't able to close the gap. I'm not sure why but I just didn't feel very fast today. It could've been that 30, but the entire race just felt kinda slow and not incredibly smooth. I still pulled out a 2:22, but I hoped that I would've gone faster than that. I think at states the race will be better for me because there will be someone ahead of me on my second lap that will give me the motivation I need to run faster. And we WILL get the section record AND Sam's 3200m time at states. Then came the 4x400. I think we were all tired from the heat and just running an 800 so it definitely didn't go as planned. I'm not sure what I ran, but it was probably about a 64. So overall it wasn't a very fast day for me, but maybe that means I'll just have some extra speed in me for states!
