First XC meet of the year!!!
Overall a fun day, it was nice being back at a meet, cheering for everybody and watching the races. My group ran last, which is both nice and not so nice. Led the warm-ups and cool downs for the first time (woohoo).
As for my race, I tried to keep a relatively conservative pace in the first mile, (the mile marker was around 7:00) and then focus and make a push in the second mile as people begin to tire out. I was able to pass a lot of people, and kept up the effort through the third mile. Time was not what I'd hoped for, but its a good baseline for the season I guess. Overall happy with the way I ran my race.
Team had a great day, with Mens Varsity coming in 1st, Mens JV in 2nd and and Womens JV in 3rd. Its great to see that the women's program has become so strong and deep for the JV program to be winning trophies.
