Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 62, spitting rain

Comments:
Great late evening run to Washington Monument. So UPDATE on the ol peter, all turned out fine in the shower after Tuesday's run. But of course, there's ALWAYS something, so I had a pretty bad blister and, due to both that and not wanting to do more than 3 days in a row this early in training, I took yesterday off. Happy I did. Today I felt very fresh and felt like I was absolutely flying (turns out I wasn't going as fast as I thought, but still a decent click) through the awesome spitting rain. Not as bad as last time's rain, it was actually pretty pleasant today. Just did the standard 6.1 mile route to Washington Monument and back around the reflecting pool. Felt very strong until about 25 minutes in, when I started to slow a little. Then ramped the pace back up in the last mile or 1.25 miles. I feel like that's how most of my runs go. Upside down bell curves or something. Anyways, finished feeling very winded but in a strangely good way, not sure I can explain it. It wasn't an "out of shape" winded but rather a "I just ran a great training run" winded. I felt good. Afterwards felt pretty tight and again a bit sore in the right achilles...gonna need to watch that in the next few days. Tomorrow is DEFINITELY an easy day, especially considering I'm only getting about 6 hours of sleep :/....but mostly because of that soreness. I'm worried it's an injury waiting to happen. Well the blister got irritated again today as I thought it would but it didn't break open and it's starting to become tougher, so I'm alright with it. Legs are quite tired, not really as fresh as Tuesday or Monday. Probably should not have pushed so hard after a day off. Hopefully sleep does this body good.
