Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Zac and I went into this race with a plan. That plan was not to race until the last mile. We set out to run exactly 6:00 pace for the first 4 miles then give it all we had the last mile. We hit the first mile in exactly 6:00 and it felt very comfortable so we picked it up a little. While we ran a little faster than we planned, it never felt like an all out effort until the last mile. It was awesome feeling controlled at a quicker pace. It's funny how I ran a minute slower here last year giving an all out effort and this year I gave a tempo effort to run a minute faster. Considering its my third day back after break, I'm feeling good about my starting point for this winter. The only downside about this run was that Zac and I forgot to wear our race bibs so we didn't show up in the results. Mile splits: 6:00, 5:50, 5:54, 5:47, 5:26 for the last 0.97 (5:36 pace)
