Owego Maine Endwell Tri-meet

April 21, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
It was pretty windy at the Owego track and I should have definitely brought more layers. I timed for the events before mine then me simon big Tommy and little Tommy did a warmup around the school. Got some good drills and strides in and went to the line. I was probably the most calm I've ever been probably because this race didn't matter that much. I was told by Coach W to just sit and kick no matter who was in the race. I had Dan Schaffer and Parrish Bridges in my race so that would be a little tough since Dan Schaffer had broken 4:30 before. I just sat on both of them for the first few laps. The first lap was very relaxed I wasn't even breathing hard at all. The second felt a little tougher. At around the 100 meter mark I dropped parish and chased Dan but I let him go a little too much. At 400 I picked up the pace a little and was closing the gap on him. Full out sprint at 200 and I was only a little behind him but I couldn't get him. After I got done I was a little tired but not as tired as I usually am after a race. Dan and Parish seemed pretty tired. The told me I got 4:34 and I was so confused because it didn't seem like I ran that fast. Dan got 4:33. Did a cool down and later warmed up for the 400 in the 4x4. I got the baton in 4th place and I kept a good fans rant pace the entire time and passed all 4 people to take the lead our relay team ended up winning which was great. Our team also won the meet. I'm happy where my fitness is right now and I know can still improve a lot.
