Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Guys that showed up were me, Silas, Ian, Rosie, and Wes. First official practice of summer training but it didn't really feel like it too much since there wasn't that many people that showed up. Only 3 guys that are going to run on the team this year. We gotta step it up I know there are definitely some valid excuses out there, but for the people who just don't want to wake up that early it's not right, hopefully as the summer training progresses more people will join in. I know a lot of people are coming back sometime in the middle of this week. We started a foot bridge and I had some foot pain, so I stayed on the grass for the rest of the run and less than a mile in it subsided. We picked it up a little bit after the first mile and a half but not much this run was pretty relaxed. We extended it around Boynton to finish off the run. Afterwards me and the guys did 10 mins of barefoot running, I've been trying to implement this into training because it strengthens your foot/leg muscles and prevents injuries. After that we did drills and strides. Then we did 10 mins of abs and then about 7 mins of hip work, this is another thing I have begun to do and will continue to do this summer. I have some new shoes coming in and that will hopefully help with the foot pain, but if it doesn't go away in a little I'll get it checked out.
