Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Have not been logging lately, but have been consistent with training. Doing about three hard workouts a week, following the book Daniels' Running Formula pretty closely for pacing etc. I'm at midseason basically, planning to run one last race in 4-6 weeks then take a few weeks off.
Conditions for this one were laughably bad, but I was pretty happy with how it went! I was cripplingly dehydrated this particular morning... I remember standing on the line with my throat parched, thinking about how if you're thirsty, it's too late. I also forgot a shirt to run in. It was about 75 degrees and all I had was my long sleeve Edgemoor 5K shirt, so I ripped off the sleeves. Missed almost all of my warmup due to the tailoring operation and a huge line for the bathroom.
During the race, my legs actually felt great. I felt like they easily had another gear, just when I tried to pick it up, I felt like I was gonna throw up. Really fun event though, I think about 850 runners, and the Boston mayor made an appearance (Marty "Mahhhty" Walsh).
Hopefully will get in a few more 5ks soon. Looking to set a PR by November!
