Lumberjack workout

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Started out running towards Dogpark instead of the golf course since the weather got a lot better out and there were golfers out there. It was a solid 50 degrees perfect running weather. The pace over was good we just talked the entire time over. We met coach and Simon over there since Simon was only doing the workout and the cooldown. It was good to have him back running with the team. We got to the course and ran the 400m stretch back and fourth once. It was a straight stretch with a hill in the middle. The hill didn't really feel like anything though when we were running it it's gonna be just like the race hill this Saturday. We did some drills and strides and got to it.
Workout was:
8x400 just below race pace goal pace: 73 sec with a 1 min rest
It was really 4x400 with the last 400 leading into a 10 min tempo and the tempo led right into another 400 that was the next 4x400
The first 400 we started out quick and then I tried to slow it down and we ended up getting to a perfect pace of 72. I just thought about myself and my pace for the next 3 400's and kept my pace consistent no matter where the people around me were I just kept that pace. The next few were really evenly paced. After the 4th 400 it headed right into the tempo. The pace was quick from the start but I'm not gonna get into that. My breathing was great the entire time I wasn't breathing hard at all it was like resting breathing almost. We headed right into the next 400 and I was feeling good and confident so I just took off. I tried to just keep my form and power up the hill it was relxed but fast. My breathing was a little hard in this one but not bad. I hit a 65. The next one I took off again just pushing myself all the way to the finish I was feeling great. The next one was a little slower but I still tried my best to push myself. The last one was pretty much all out I pushed myself and tried to test new limits. I hit a 62. I felt really confident about this workout and my speed. Even running by myself for the last few reps I was still able to push myself. We cooled down back afterward and then did some hurdles, rolling at home after.
